Welcome back to CNHP. Our Annual General
Meeting was held on January 14th. A new Board of
Directors was elected and plans for the 2018 show season are proceeding.
Year end reports
for 2017 are available for viewing.
As usual, the General Performance
Series shows for 2018 will be held. To be eligible to earn points
towards CNHP year-end awards, you MUST be a current CNHP member.
The shows are going to be Scotia Series shows and will be run
according to those rules, which can be found on the NSEF
After listening to our competitors, CNHP has
revised the class list of our GP Series Shows for 2018. We
have cut back to one Combined Hunter Division, with the heights
being either 2' or 2'6". If there is a big demand for
2'9", we can look at adding that height to the division.
Also, the Hunter Stakes Class will be part of the Hunter
Division this year. In lieu of a second hunter division,
we have added some hunter classes for our up and coming riders
and horses. They include a Hunter Pattern over Poles
Class, a Hunter Cross Rail Class and a Hunter 18" Class.
And we have brought back the Green Horse/Pony Class, for those
equines in their first or second year of showing. The rest
of the classes remain the same. We hope to encourage lots
of new riders and horse/ponies to try out the show ring in 2018!
The show season begins
on May 26th
with the first of three General Performance Series Shows, with
another on June 23rd and the final one on September 22nd. We are
offering a number of stakes classes this year also! There will
be a Hunter Show on May 27th to help get everyone back on track
for the competition ring.
CNHP is offering a Gold/Bronze Dressage Show
this year, being held on
July 28-29. This is in response to the wishes of many of our
