CNHP ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
JANUARY 17,2026
COLCHESTER REGIONAL LIBRARY
Welcome to the annual general meeting for the year ending 2025.
Firstly I would like to thank all the directors who served on the board in 2025
These include Lesley Langley (vice president), Amy Sangster (treasurer), Angeline Malone (secretary), Vanessa Isenor, Elizabeth Dugan, Sheila Mclellan, James Holman, Jess Buell, Hannah MacDonald, Kailin Howard and Katelyn McElman. We would also like to extend special thanks to Chris Veniott who worked very hard on our grounds committee (new fence for warm up, as well as single handedly building new bleachers along with multiple repairs). Additionally Chelsea Smith who worked tirelessly with Elizabeth as show secretaries for the two english shows. Jess Buell, James and Lesley for the western show. Angeline for doing an amazing job with minutes and getting them out in a very timely manner. Sheila for her numerous hours in the canteen. Vanessa for setting the courses and helping with the show organization. Our other board members helped at clean up, at the shows and our monthly board meetings. We had a great team this year.
HAPPENINGS IN 2025
Grant submission approved from municipality which went towards warm up ring and bleachers. Clean up day was held in spring with a good turnout of members to help get it all done.
Grant from province to reopen the trails. This was done by Colchester Excavation and billed directly to the province. Colchester Excavation also did the work on the parking lot in the fall. The road into the grounds was graded in May after having no success with DOT and Public Works to have done, we did end up paying for this.
The club hosted two day shows in May and September, with the September show having a different format. Hunter classes were held on Saturday with jumpers on Sunday morning and afternoon being the hacks. Both shows had sold out stabling and great turnout. A seperate Western show was held in September which again had a great turnout and good feedback. Additionally a Jen Hamilton clinic was held on the grounds in October and attended by many members.
Rentals included three shows, NS driving, Hunters creek and Turn and Burn. Rentals for camps were Eastern shore Equestrian for two bookings, Friendly Breezes, and Halifax Bengal Lancers for two weeks in August.
Amy will be giving treasurer’s report and then we will have election of new board.
We wish to particularly thank Amy and Sheila for their many, many years of service to the board. Both have agreed to still help out as volunteers , so thank you for that ladies. Additionally Kailin and Katelyn are also stepping back for busy lives at this point in their lives. Thank you for your support of CNHP. We do have Rebecca Yorke, Michelle Babineau MacKenzie, Kaili Johnson and Chelsea Smith have offered to serve on board for 2026.
